ACCEL Ministries is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to accelerating opportunity, dignity, and long-term opportunity for individuals and families impacted by disability. Born out of a proven, community-loved enterprise—The Next Chapter Book Mart—is transitioning from a founder-supported operation into a sustainable ministry built to endure, grow, and multiply impact.

Our focus is not short-term charity, but meaningful work, community, and belonging. We create real volunteer and paid employment opportunities for individuals of all abilities, anchored in literacy, learning, skill development contribution. Through books, relationships, and practical support, ACCEL helps people connect, learn, and thrive. We operate at the intersection of faith-informed compassion, inclusive employment, and community life, serving individuals with disabilities and their families while strengthening the broader community around them.

Our mission is to utilize our book store business (The Next Chapter Book Mart) to foster a community for people affected by disability to connect, learn, and thrive. We desire to create an environment that offers volunteer and employment options, enrich lives through books and learning, and collaborate with like-minded organizations to build a stronger, all abilities community.

The Problem

Individuals with disabilities are frequently excluded from meaningful employment and community life—not because of lack of ability, but because environments, expectations, and systems are not designed with them in mind. Families and caregivers carry the weight of limited options, while capable individuals are left without places where they are genuinely needed, known, and valued.

Many well-intentioned programs offer short-term activities or symbolic engagement. Few provide real contribution, dignity-centered work, or sustainable community integration. As a result, potential is left untapped, confidence erodes, and families are left searching for long-term solutions.

ACCEL Ministries exists to address this gap by building environments where individuals are not simply served but contribute meaningfully within a supportive community framework.

Our Solution

ACCEL Ministries operates through an integrated, community-anchored model centered on The Next Chapter Book Mart as a physical and relational hub.

Rather than creating artificial programs, ACCEL embeds individuals of all abilities into real operational roles that matter. This model combines:

  • A welcoming, stigma-free community space centered on books and learning
  • Meaningful volunteer and paid roles tied to actual operational needs
  • Partnerships with families, churches, and disability-focused organizations

This approach allows individuals to build confidence, routine, skills, and pride—while also delivering real value to the organization and community. The model has proven viable at a small scale and is intentionally designed to grow through donor support rather than bookstore sales alone.
